During the last 5 months ICR have been undertaking a significant restoration project for the National Trust at Winchester City Mill.
This week we have reached another major milestone with the completion of the new main sluice gate and waterwheel and the removal of the river dam which has allowed us to work safely and mitigate risk to the environment and resident wildlife.
This project has been many years in the planning and a once in a generation opportunity and huge thanks must be given to National Trust, Heritagefunduk and the local community for their continued support which has enabled us to help return this wonderful watermill back to full operational use -without this amazing support heritage craft-based skills could disappear forever.
We have a few more tasks to complete before we finally hand the project over and then the waterwheel and milling machinery at Winchester City Mill will come alive again for all to enjoy.
