RNSM Biber 105. German WWII Midget Submarine

Restoration to fully operational condition in partnership with Fleet Support Limited, Channel 4 Television and H.M Naval Base, Portsmouth.

Internal view of the severely decayed operating systems Original lead acid cell batteries
Starting point of the contract Preliminary assessment of restoration
Fully restored mid section hull with high spec modern battery View of replicated helm control and diving panel

This helm position and diving panel is an exact replica built for the project and is modelled on an original example as installed in Biber 90 on display at the Imperial War Museum.  This particular aspect of the project was a significant challenge as it needed to function as a fully operational system and was subject to MOD codification.
