In combining thirty years engineering experience within the field of industrial, maritime and architectural heritage conservation, Ian Clark is able to offer a multi-disciplined and dedicated service.

Working on a series of prestigious contracts both nationally and internationally, Ian has been professionally accredited as a conservator/restorer by the Institute of Conservation (ICON) formally UKIC and is a listed millwright by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and an approved metals conservator for The National Trust. Contracts have been completed on behalf of Local and Central Government funded collections as well as private sector clients.

A diversity of work can be undertaken from the conservation and restoration of large industrial and maritime machinery collections, wind and watermills to structural repairs and conservation of decorative metalwork and architectural ironwork. Complete contracts can be undertaken or selected specialist tasks can be carried out.

In addition full condition surveys and technical specifications can be prepared as part of a grant application or Heritage Lottery Fund bid. Ethical and technical advice can be given with regard to all aspects of industrial and architectural heritage.

Ian was a long serving member of the National Historic Ships Committee and has been included in the Directory of Expert Advisers maintained by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Ian is a very active supporter of ICON and is currently a metals group committee member.  Ian has been professionally employed  by a number of television and radio production companies working on programmes showcasing industrial and maritime conservation.

Ian was awarded the Pilgrim Trust Award for Conservation 2002/3. The Conservation Awards are the UK's premier scheme to reward excellence in preserving our heritage.
