Bursledon Windmill

Consultancy contract to supply new operational, working and maintenance procedures for Hampshire County Council. Completion of condition survey and subsequent remedial repairs.

Bursledon Windmill is a 5 storey tower mill with common sails built for Mrs Phoebe Langtrey in 1813/14 at a cost of £800.  It was used until the 1880s and then fell into decay.  Fully restored to working condition by Hampshire Buildings Preservation Trust and Hampshire County Council betweem 1978 and 1990.

During 2012 Hampshire County Council commissioned Ian Clark Restoration to remove the sails from Bursledon Windmill, Southampton ahead of an extensive planned maintenance programme.
